The Office of the Year awards have been given out to four recipients in the eponymous category, out of a record number of 41 nominees. Profession.hu received the title “Office of the Year”, while GE triumphed in the category of large enterprises. The “Design Office of the Year” accolade was given to DekoRatio, while Waberer’s executive offices were considered worthy of a special prize.

Office of the Year: Profession.hu

Profession.hu has moved its offices to Krisztina Palace in 2015, as the company has been dynamically growing, currently employing nearly a hundred people. The new office of 900 m2 integrates the positive aspects of 21st century workplace culture, while creating a familiar, homely atmosphere at the same time. The current office of the employment website can also be a source for reference, as it authentically demonstrates how the demands and needs of employees can be met in the 21st century by providing the appropriate environment and architectural solutions.

The communal areas and isles, smaller spaces also offer alternative opportunities to work at a different spot: the variety of seats can give new impulses and ideas for the workforce. The developers aimed to create a certain balance, where concentration and focus can be altered with relaxation and recreation. A relaxation room has been designed as well, with a television, sofas, massage chairs and a table football game. The open office space has been equipped with two business rooms, one of which has an iconic image depicting Leonardo DiCaprio in one of the scenes from “Wolf of Wall Street”.

Office of the Year, Large enterprises category: GE

GE has settled into two different buildings in Váci Greens, and is to set foot in the third building as well, forming somewhat of an office campus. The corporate group has placed several functions in building C, where the interiors and layouts are of such high quality that it’s up to par with the world’s most spectacular offices owned by the world’s biggest and most influential companies. It has a development and educational centre with a lab, while the headquarters of Global Operations are also situated here, which practically works as the service centre unit of the international company.

Building C’s seven floors – encompassing a total area of 16 000 m2s – emits the atmosphere of campuses owned the biggest technology corporates. Constant buzzing, a multicultural variety, an optimistic and upbeat mood, creativity and momentum. The designs are absolutely fantastic in the communal areas, tea seats, the spaces interconnected by the main hallways (which are simultaneously dining rooms, informal meeting halls, parlours and printing stations) – even the known concepts of communal areas have been partially reinvented here, since the range of activities available have been expanded by the setting and the furnishings.

Office of the Year, Special prize: Waberer’s executive offices

Waberer’s offices – situated in one of Kossuth Square’s most renowned office blocks – represent a world-class, exclusive workplace with a breath-taking scenery (with a view to the Parliament, the Danube and the Buda Castle). In such circumstances, the company can welcome its distinguished clients while also enabling the executive board to work in an exceptional setting. The exclusive office makes the company more prestigious and respectable especially with regards to its international partners, also providing a working space for the employees responsible for behind-the-scenes tasks.

The development and execution are both results of a precise and detailed process, which also reflects work ethics of the company and the approach of owner György Wáberer. The main goals in creating this particular office were to accurately represent the group’s power and international significance. The amount of attention to detail also symbolises the ethics and approach of the company itself: striving for professional and perfect results in every possible area.

Office of the Year, Design category: DekoRatio Branding and Design Studio

The office of DekoRatio Branding and Design Studio is situated in a pleasant, two-story tenement house in Rózsa Street, where the brand has occupied almost the entirety of the landing floor. Every little corner and wall space emits a certain “wow factor”, meaning that lots of ideas and inventions are colliding here. The office almost looks like a design exhibition, where the range of products and the know-how aren’t made a secret.

While the original layout forms a rectangle, you almost feel like you’re in the middle of a maze, making turns and wandering around in this workspace. The employees are free to sit and brainstorm in any spot, making them able to come up with new ideas, providing an inspiring and innovative workplace all round.
